Dear AMMRL's,
Please consider passing this on to interested parties.

NMR Postdoctoral Position
in
Marine Metabonomics
at
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
National Ocean Service
Hollings Marine Laboratory
and the
Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research in Charleston,
South Carolina

Join an expanding effort to apply state-of-the-art NMR research to important
marine environmental health issues. Multidisciplinary research targeted at
environmental forecasting, toxicology, environmental analytical chemistry,
genomics and proteomics is the hallmark of the new Hollings Marine Laboratory
(HML) situated in historic Charleston, South Carolina. HML is a new
multi-institutional research facility with partners from NOAA, National
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Medical University of South
Carolina (MUSC), the University of Charleston, and the South Carolina Department
of Natural Resources (SCDNR).
This research position will be used to continue development of NMR-based
metabonomics in the marine environment, drawing on a large body of expertise in
marine biology and ecotoxicology at the HML. Research will be conducted using
the state-of-the-art NMR facilities at the HML and CCEHBR including 500MHz,
700MHz and 800MHz NMR instrumentation. These instruments are equipped with
CryoProbes, HRMAS probes, an LC/Mass spectrometer and flow measurement
accessories, in order to address a wide array of issues in marine metabonomics,
marine natural products and marine structural biology.
All enquiry's welcome! Contingent on funding, this opportunity may be available
starting around October 2006.
