Highland L900/L950 & Oxford Heating Control Modules

I have a high temperature probe which I am trying to run at 130C.

Obs 1) When I use the Highland L900 the probe gets up to about 80C
and then the control module goes into a "HW Error" state
(going above 80 is not possible as it is currently set up).

Obs 2) When I use the Highland L950 to above 60C I get very unstable
temperature responses (oscillation of +-5 degrees). I can get
the probe to 130C but if I am not careful in approaching the
temperature I get the "HW Error" state.

Obs 3) When I use the old style Oxford heating control unit, I am able to
control my temperature at 130C with out much issue.

Are there safety interlocks or other controls on the Highland units which hinder
it from managing higher temperatures?
