Dear AMMRL,

Millennium Pharmaceuticals has an opening for an NMR spectroscopist, as
detailed below. Please forward this message to anybody you know who
might be qualified or interested.

Position Description:

The successful candidate will have a pHD in chemistry or a
chemistry-related area, and will demonstrate a passion to advance the
process of drug discovery/development by contributing their unique
understanding of molecular structure and behavior to project teams. Your
primary responsibility will be to use NMR methods to support medicinal
and process chemistry structure characterization efforts, in both drug
discovery and development environments. You will work alongside mass
spectrometrists, computational chemists, analytical chemists and other
colleagues, in these efforts. A strong understanding of organic
chemistry will be required. You will be joining a customer-focused
service department, and will show excellent communication skills. Your
talents in data analysis and pattern recognition should ideally be
balanced with technical proficiency in NMR instrumentation, software,
and pulse sequences.
In addition, you will identify and pursue projects within the company
where you can build and achieve outstanding results. In this regard,
experience in the use of LC-NMR and flow-NMR would be especially
beneficial, as would experience in the analysis of polymorphs and
formulations through the use of solid state NMR. Experience in the area
of metabonomics would also be a plus.
