UPS Shutdown Scripts

Dear AMMRL members,

We recently purchased a Best Unity/1 UPS to protect our Bruker DMX
spectrometer which includes a serial connection to the DMX's Indy
workstation to permit a controlled shutdown of the Indy should the UPS
detect a low battery condition during a power outage. I have heard that
there is a Unix shell script which will do a controlled shutdown of
XWIN-NMR given a command from the UPS via a dedicated serial line. If
anyone has such a script, regardless of what UPS is attached to the
spectrometer, I would very much appreciate receiving a copy of it. While we
have a script to shut down Unix, we don't have one which shuts down
XWIN-NMR in the proper manner.

Best regards,
