easy way to mearsure the field strength

Dear Ammrlers,

I have urgent question for you, which may have been asked before:
Yesterday, a user reported sudden lost of lock signals on our Varian
VXR200. Then we tested and found that we lost detection of anything,
even put a 10 mm tube of 40% Dioxane/C6D6 into the magnet. We
also tried using different probe. The whole console was tested working
fine by connecting it to other Varian probe/magnet (VXR400). Although
we have not ruled out the possibility of that both probes for the 200 are
bad, we believe that the field of the magnet might have been drifted to
the level that is beyond the compensation. The magnet is definitely still
alive
and there is no trace of sign that the magnet is quenched or unusual
cryogen boil-off.

Does any one of you know a easy or quick way to determine the strength of
the field? (we don't have the Gauss meter.) Or any other thoughts about how
to cope with the crisis are highly appreciated!!
