dropped bit

Colleagues

We have definitively determined the dropped bit problem to be associated
with the SUN. This is an automated robot operated inova300 for the
undergraduate chemistry labs. For organic chemistry students the data is
stored both in his/her account on an Enterprise250 server and on the
Inova300 local SUN host. Today we were able to duplicate the dropped bit
again in the SUN host. That same data was stored on the server without a
dropped bit. So, we conclude it is a problem with the inova300 host.

Many thanks to all of you who responded to my request for help!
