AMMRL: BSMS field update in TopSpin3.2

Hi all,

I sent this to the Bruker Users list, but it hasn't appeared, so I
assume that list is dormant.

I've been using TopSpin 3.2pl6 on my AVANCE600 for a couple of months
and am wondering if there is a way to adjust the settings for the BSMS
field update.

There is a new requirement that this is performed regularly, and if not
done the system refuses to lock.

The new edlock manual says that the required interval is every 3 months,
but my experience is that the time is actually 30 days.

This weekend I received an email that the instrument would not lock, and
the error messages said that this was because the BSMS field value had
not been updated for 30 days.

There may be good reasons for updating this more often than normal, but
every month seems very frequent. I would guess that I used to do this
about every 6 months at most on that instrument. I have older systems
with magnets that drift more and do require more frequent adjustment.

My question is can the interval be increased from 30 days, or can the
process be automated in some way?

Maybe a reminder message that some functions might not work correctly if
the BSMS field is not up to date would be more helpful than disabling
the lock function.

Regards,

Phil
