Dear friends,

Few additions to the Summary of NMR-related humor posted before:

NMR song:
http://faculty.washington.edu/crowther/Misc/Songs/twinkle.shtml

http://www.acornnmr.com/humor.htm     - Some of it is NMR- or science-related.

Thanks Sophia and Virginia for pointing to these sites which were missed in the initial summary.

cheers,
Sasha

Summary that have been sent previously:

Thanks to all who responded! This "survey" highlighted the serious problem - there are only few places on the Web where one can find NMR-related humor, and even less places with NMR-related cartoons. It seems that since the famous 1991 ENC the cartoonists largely ignored the field of NMR... Shame... Somebody urgently needs to stop running spectra and start drawing!

Below are listed the sources of information on the Web (be warned - you may find that the quality of the humor/jokes varies a lot, and may be not to everybody's taste!):

http://kunmr7.chem.ku.edu/400walls.html - the  old famous GE 1991 ENC pictures (including the classical picture with the tilted heads)
http://www.nearingzero.net            -  cartoons related to all aspects of our lives, including science.
  http://nmr.ioc.ac.ru/Staff/AnanikovVP/nmr-misc/nmr-misc.htm     - NMR-related jokes
http://freon.ucsc.edu/nmrmax.html - NMR related humor
http://www.reactivereports.com/humor/2.html - NMR related humor

Also the hint: "Concepts in Magnetic Resonance" has published a number of cool/interesting cartoons over the years.

That's it, apparently...

Best regards,
Sasha

Original message:

Life is not only repairing hardware/software and fighting with shimming - does anybody have any funny NMR-related cartoons, pictures, etc? These sort of things would be very useful for entertaining students and publicizing NMR (obviously, with the proper acknowledgement of their authors and source). Surprisingly, not much can be found on the Internet by simple search... But NMR cannot be that dull!

If anybody have such pictures (or simply NMR-related humor), and want to share them, I can create a Summary containing links to these Web sites or pictures. Alternatively, may be somebody has a suitable web-site where these pictures, cartoons, etc, may be collected and made available to the community (ammrl site?)

Have fun, and best regards,
Sasha
