We are looking for an affordable ($2-3K) UPS or Line Conditioner for a
Bruker MSL-200 (3 phase 208V). Apparently UPS units for 3 phase are huge
and start at well over $10K. Other options include re-wiring the console
for single phase, or putting the UPS only on the leg which supplies the
Aspect 3000. Even so, I could not find any UPS for 208 V (single phase)
under about $6K-$8K. I know UPS has been discussed previously here in
detail, but I don't remember if the 208V and 3 phase issue was raised. The
instrument is in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and during the summer rainy
season they have power outages on a regular basis. We don't really expect
to keep the instrument up during the longer outages but we are concerned
about having a "soft landing" so that equipment is not damaged as it goes
down.
