Lock Problem / Funding Sources

Dear Group,

Two things.
1. we have a WM-360 that has a MAJOR lock problem. The lock signal is
beautiful on the oscilloscope, but when you push the "Lock ON" button it
fails to lock. Adjusting the coarse Ho makes the system appear to give
a lock, but it quickly goes away. The best you can do to acquire a lock
is to get the lock signal to rise slightly, but shimming does not
improve this. I did get it to lock once, but when I carefully shimmed
on it, I rapidly lost the lock signal.
Has anyone ever had this problem before? I've replaced the 2H Cascode
board, the Display Control board, the PFP board (which only made it
worse), all to no avail. Help!

2. because of #1, can anyone suggest a good funding agency to which I
could write a grant to purchase a new NMR (we're thinking a 300MHz
Bruker Avance)? (I'll post a summary of the responses if there is
enough interest.)

Thanks,
