Hi Brian!
I'm not going to be too much help, but we used to have a AVII that was very sensitive to firewall changes and linux updates. I can't recall the software/process that would 'break' but often after an update it would no longer automatically launch upon reboot essentially breaking any possibility of communication between the workstation and the console. There used to be a wizard at Bruker, Peter DeMue (Demouo?), who would eventually track it down and reset the firewall or whatever process it was to get things going again.
IF you are able to communicate via a web browser it may well be that you are bypassing this process that needs to be running but isn't.
This comms issue manifests with all sorts of downstream errors that really point you in every direction but the right now.
Was there any kind of background update that might have taken place right before the trouble began?
I'm going to end up posting this to AMMRL in case it jogs anyones memory....
Best regards
