NMR Facility Director/Manager

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Louisville is recruiting a
Manager for their Nuclear Magnetic Resonance facility. The position is a
full-time (12-month), staff appointment in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The successful candidate will oversee use and maintenance of the Department’s
Varian 400, 500, and 700 MHz NMR and Bruker EMXplus EPR instruments. The manager
will be responsible for organizing user access and billing, training and assisting
post-doctoral, graduate and undergraduate student users, participating in
collaborative research with faculty and working with local industry. There
will also be opportunities for teaching if desired. Prior experience with
magnetic resonance instruments that includes troubleshooting at the board level,
Linux administration and networking is expected. A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry,
physics or a related field is required, and a year of postdoctoral experience in
NMR and/or EPR spectroscopy is highly desirable. There are excellent opportunities
for interactions and collaborations with scientists and professionals that utilize
high-field NMR and EPR across both campuses of the University of Louisville.
Applicants with prior experience using and managing NMR and EPR instrumentation in
teaching and research settings are encouraged to apply.

A curriculum vitae and a cover letter should be submitted electronically along
with the names and contact information of three individuals who will serve as

appears and continue until the position is filled. Questions about the position
can be directed to deptchem_at_louisville.edu. The University of Louisville
(http://www.louisville.edu ) is an R1-designated urban institution located
in the city of Louisville and is composed of the main (Belknap) campus and
