We've been getting insertion errors on our Agilent DD2 system lately.
Errors have been intermittent and broad in where they occurred. We've
finally been able to trace it back to wear on the gripper fingers of our
AS7600 sample changer. The aluminum on the fingers has worn down to the
point where samples are not gripped reliably and are intermittently not
picked up or dropped mid transport. Our system has been running 24/7
for roughly 14 years. We applied adhesive foam craft stickers cut to
size at the 4 contact points of the gripper and the robot is transferring
reliably again.
