Hi all,
Putting out the message to the hive mind to see if anyone has seen this peculiar
behaviour. The main symptom is that the BSMS reports a non-zero spinning speed
(typically 15-25 Hz) when a sample is in the probe but it's not spinning, although
it will correctly report the spinning state (BSN_SPIN). For everyday use you
workaround that, but because it doesn't read zero when it's not spinning means
its fails to run the spinning self-calibration routine in the ha webpages. The
system has been doing it for a while but it's just something I'd partially given
up on, but eventually I've gotten sufficiently annoyed to try and do something
about it.
The system is a Bruker AVIII Nanobay v1 (v2 and v3 are different), so uses an
SLCB/2 board for sample handling. We've tried swapping cables around from
working systems, replacing the SLCB/2 board (firmware up to date) as well as
the BST, and it has not changed the behaviour. We've also tried plugging in
the BST we have into a different system and it works like it should. We've
also tried this with two different autosamplers (SampleXpress and SampleXpress
Lite) with the same results.
The one thing that has sort of worked is by bypassing the autosampler entirely,
but then it only sometimes works. Fortunately though it only needs to work once
for it to correctly pass the spinning self-calibration routine.
Bruker seem to have run out of ideas so wondering if anyone else has seen this
behaviour and/or have other suggestions.
Thanks
Geoff
