Dear fellow ammrl'ers,
I don't know if it is appropriate to post this here ... please rap my
knuckles if not.
I am very pleased to announce that the book project that I have been
working on for some years now has finally been published by the Royal
Society of Chemistry. The text is titled "Essential Mathematics for NMR
and MRI Spectroscopists" and is intended to bridge the gap between the
(very excellent) current introductory nmr texts and the very high level
(and often obtuse for the beginner) books. I have tried to explain as
much as possible how the mathematical logic progresses when looking at a
set of nmr-related equations which, I think, is a unique approach. Also,
I believe that a couple of chapters are ones that you would not usually
see in an nmr book, especially the chapter on special relativity. In
that sense it is also unique.
If you think that you or your institution's library may be interested in
acquiring a copy here is a link to the RSC information page:
http://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/ebook/978-1-78262-797-5#!divbookcontent .
It is also available on Amazon ... with some grossly inflated prices in
some cases, as seems to be the norm on Amazon.
Also of possible interest to you is that there will shortly be a new
version of my (freely downloadable) product operator calculator
program, wxProdOp available. Version 1.5 has a much expanded macro
capability complete with mini-editor, larger toolbar and a convenient
preferences dialog. I am currently doing some final testing on the
program and will likely post it to SourceForge
(
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxprodop/) at the end of January.
Cheers.
