Hello All -

We require some assistance with the software configuration for our Bruker
Monitoring System (BMS) computer. To orient everyone, the BMS is a Windows
2000 PC that sits on top of the BMPC Automatic Control Unit for a circa
2004 pumped 800 MHz Bruker magnet. It receives information regarding
pumped magnet conditions (T, P, He Level, etc.) via the serial port, keeps
records of long term monitoring and uses the modem to place telephone calls
to alert staff of issues with the magnet.

Our original BMS computer died a while back. Last summer, with expert help
from Bill Bartsch at Bruker, I was able to configure a replacement with
scrap parts. Unfortunately, the video card on that 2nd PC died recently
and I have been unable locate a replacement. It is probably a better
strategy for us to configure a new-ish BMS computer. With help from our IT
department, I located a suitable vintage computer and installed Windows
2000. Bruker provided executable files for the software. The Bruker
Monitoring System software and Watchdog are installed. Unfortunately, the
software cannot read data from the serial port, nor can it place calls.

I was hoping that someone else in Spinland has been able to maintain their
BMS and can assist me either by phone or email with configuration. My
major questions right now have to do with modem drivers (Control Panel ->
Phone and Modem Options; Modem and Advanced Tab) and the Setup (F10) of the
Bruker Monitoring System software. It would help me a lot if I could see
some screenshots of the configuration of a working system. Please contact
me at justindouglas_at_ku.edu if you can help.

Thanks for your time,

Justin
