Would you please post the following NMR spectroscopist job opening at the
University of Delaware on AMMRL? Thank you for your help!

Steve Bai
Chemistry NMR Facility
Chemistry and Biochemistry
University of Delaware
Newark, DE 19716
(302) 831 8901

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware
seeks an NMR Spectroscopist for its departmental NMR Facility. The rapidly
growing NMR facility is located in a newly built 4,650 ft2 NMR Magnet Hall,
and consists of 6 spectrometers operating at frequencies from 400 to 850
MHz. These instruments serve more than 30 research groups at the
University of Delaware and beyond, and are used for modern NMR experiments
on a wide variety of systems, including biomacromolecules, inorganic
materials, polymers, and small molecules, both in solution and the solid
state. The successful candidate will report to the NMR Facility Director,
and will be responsible for operating and maintaining the instrumentation,
for implementing new NMR experiments, for training and supervising student
and postdoc users, and for assisting in the preparation of proposals for
new equipment. The candidate will be expected to maintain a broad
knowledge of state-of-the-art NMR technology and equipment. Candidates
must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related area, with postdoctoral
experience preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in
solid-state and solution NMR spectroscopy, including development and
implementation of new NMR experiments, and in particular multidimensional
experiments for structural analysis of biological systems. Candidates must
have knowledge of NMR hardware and software for data collection and
processing in modern solution and solid-state NMR spectrometers, as well
as extensive experience with computers. Candidates must have excellent
communication and organizational skills, the ability to positively interact
with a diverse group of NMR users, and a strong motivation to learn new NMR
techniques. More information is available at the departmental NMR web site
(http://sites.udel.edu/nmr). Applications and three letters of
recommendation should be electronically submitted to Ms. Susan Cheadle (
scheadle_at_udel.edu). In addition, applicants should go to
http://www.udel.edu/udjobs/ and attach a letter of application and
curriculum vitae (including telephone number and e-mail address) as one
document. Review of applications will begin on Jan. 30, 2012, and will
continue until the position is filled. All application materials shall be
shared with departmental faculty.
