Post-doctoral Research Assistant Position in MRI
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to
investigate pattern formation in the
Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction in a microemulsion
medium (the BZ-AOT system). This project is
being carried out in collaboration with the group
of Prof Irv Epstein, Brandeis University,
Massachusetts, USA.
The successful applicant will be expected to
apply and develop Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging
experiments, to visualise patterns in the BZ-AOT
system, and PGSE and MR relaxation experiments,
to probe the structure and transport properties
of the microemulsion. The candidate should be
able to work in a team and be confident in
multidisciplinary working.
Applicants should have a first degree in
Chemistry or Physics and have achieved or
submitted a thesis for the award of a PhD in NMR
Spectroscopy or Magnetic Resonance Imaging prior
to taking up this position. Experience with
pulsed gradient spin echo experiments would be
desirable. The laboratory is equipped with a
Bruker DMX 300 spectrometer and experience using
Bruker instruments would be advantageous, though
not essential.
This post is available from 1 March 2007 for a
