The response to my request was incredible, thank you. Thank you to everyone
most especially Chacko, Gwen, Edward, Daina, Vera, Doug and John. If I
inadvertently left anyone off, I apologize. I received not only a copy of
the Pearson paper, but other very good shimming articles. I have learned a
great deal more than I already knew!!!
I was asked where Pearson had originally published his paper. I asked John
Snyder at the Univeristy of Iowa received the following response, "I do not
recall him sending it in to a Journal, from what I remember, he may have
sent a printer file {.prn} out to AMMRL members who requested it. I know he
corresponded with Vera at U. Illinois to add Varian info to it, since we
only had Bruker spectrometers."
If anyone is interested in the articles I received, please let me know.

I was wondering if anyone has an electronic copy of Gerald Pearson's
"Shimming an NMR Magent" or knows where to find a copy? I went out to the
University of Iowa and was unable to find either the paper or Dr. Pearson's
web page. I also tried surfing the Internet but was unsuccessful there as
well.
