We have a Bruker AVANCE 600 MHz system with a standard bore magnet. I
routinely switch the system from CPMAS, HRMAS and Standard Liquid
probes. It is as simple as a standard probe change over with the
exception that you must run KBr, Adamantine, and glycine. This typically
takes about 1/2 hour. Shims never change, and with Linear amplifiers
pulse widths do not change much either. To switch back takes minutes.

> Subject: solid to solution phase change time
We're proposing that solids and solutions users could share
a yet to be funded 600. Estimates range from half an hour
to half a day for the time to switch between solids and solution.
Real world experience would be better. If you find yourself
switching a late model spectrometer, let us know how fast you
are in both directions.
Winner to be awarded the Brass Figligee With Bronze Oak-Leaf Palm
Device :), and will be announced when I summarize the software survey.
