VNMRsgi's editdevice command generate the /etc/printcap in your system,
which means it look for the lpr printing utility. SGI uses lp instead of
lpr. So there are two ways to solve your problem:
1. look for a copy of BSD lpr utility for SGI. I know there exist one but
I don't have it.
2. install Impressario for your SGI, then define the printer connected to
your SUN as a remote printer.
Now you need to edit your /vnmr/bin/vnmrplot. Look for the variable
'prcmd' and change the default prcmd="lpr -P" to prcmd="lp -s -c -d"
The script suppose to take care of different platforms but it didn't
work on SGI machines.
I use the second way to plot. Either way, you need to make your SUN allow
your SGI print to it. This can be done by /etc/host.equiv but security is
an issue if you do so.
Hope this helps.
