Hi all,
I've noticed that some photochemistry setups are designed so that the light
is on for only part of the pulse sequence (and controlled by an output from
the NMR console) whereas other setups have the light on all the time.
Under what experimental conditions is it necessary to turn the light off for
part of the pulse sequence? For example, if we are using light to
convert an azo dye from the trans- to cis- conformation and then observing
the changes in the proton spectrum (or in a NOESY), is it OK to have the
light on the whole time?
