I'm running into an issue with spin detection on two of my Bruker MAS probes.
One is a 4mm HX and the other is a 3.2mm HCP probe. We have 4 MAS probes
total, and they all seem to spin just fine when measured by oscilloscope
plugged into the back of MAS III unit. However, the two previously mentioned
probes are not detected in the either the maspdisp in topspin or the web
page interface. The two probes that are detected are a 1.9mm HCN and a 3.2
HCN probe. The HCN is particularly strange since it is the exact same style
of probe as the HCP that cannot be detected.
Tech specs:
Topspin: 3.7.0
Console: AVIII HD
MAS firmware: 20240830_1845
We've tried the dumb things (restart topspin, power cycle MAS controller, restart
computer, restart console, etc).
We've tried a looking at the actual fiber optic cables that run into the spin
detection on the probes. One of them was a loose connection, so I removed the
collar, pushed it in further and re-tightened the collar. Still no detection.
All the firmware is (as far as I can tell up) up to date and there is no
noticeable damage to the probes themselves.
Has anyone experienced this? It sure looks like a software issue to me, since
all probes actually do spin (and stably at that) but for some reason topspin
can't detect them.
