I cannot explain Z52352, but v1 of the Bruker document "Helium Recovery
for NMR Systems" clearly had a mistake if it suggested the “ installation only”
Z58140 for regular use on a magnet. The red valve Z58140 does not have the internal
dampening system. Hence David’s unpleasant experience with it.
Two valves that have the dampening mechanism are Z178876 with KF-25 connections,
which fits Oxford magnets, and the usual one for Bruker magnets, Z52395. Both
are silver colored:
The adapter Hasan shows (Z52523) is very handy for making KF-25 connections
to Z52395 for a helium recovery system.

Hello - regarding the one-way valve discussion, we also have a mixture here
at Dalhousie (all 4K magnets). Older Bruker magnets have the brass lower-flow
valves which we remove prior to a fill. These are from Circle Valve which,
in our case, look to have a FNPT-->KF flange on one end and a barb fitting
on the other. The cracking pressure is listed at 10 mbar A recent Ascend
magnet was fitted with Z52395 which we leave on during fills. I read somewhere
the cracking pressure for this valve is 15 mbar. To make matters more interesting,
v1 of the Bruker document "Helium Recovery for NMR Systems" listed the exhaust
valve for 4K magnets as part number Z58140 (the "installation only" valve)
but in v2 this was updated to Z52352.
In terms of capturing helium, I too have been wondering if the older magnets
with the Circle Valves should be updated to the higher flow style OR if I
should simply remove them from the back of the magnets and tee them into the
low flow pathway. To replace them, its not clear to me what the proper part
number is as there are three that I know of floating around (Z52395, Z58140,
or Z52352).
Some clarity on these different valves would be most helpful!
Thanks,
Mike

Hello All,
There is an adapter sold by Bruker that allows you to connect the silver
one-way-valves to KF-25 clamps -- see the photo below. They call them:
Z52523 ADAPTER KF25 HE MANIFOLD D2XX
We paid with the shipping and taxes included approximately $150 for these a
few years ago.
Best,
Hasan
