I'm not sure if anyone can use it, but we just decommissioned a Varian Gemini-200. It was installed in 1993 and ran perfectly all this time. We had given up on the HP7550 plotter so we created a Windows program to intercept the plots (serial port) and convert to pdf format, sending it to a modern printer. We also had converted to a modern color monitor.
We opened the vacuum valve to boil off helium and quench the magnet. Hopefully this didn't damage anything.
Getting the system to run again would be challenging. You would need a charging rod and power supply, and even Varian says they don't have these. But anyone with the interest or expertise to try it is welcome to carry the system away (we are in Tucson, AZ). If there are no takers for the complete system, we will take requests for parts (you pay shipping).
