Thanks to everyone for the help with how to access old VNMR_accounting
files. It turns out that there are several different ways to go about
solving this problem. I have summarized the suggestions I received below.

Every month go into /vnmr/adm/tmp and copy all the current files to have an
extension with the day's date. Then copy these text files to a PC.

Rename the files for VNMR_accounting to read them. It reads /var/adm/wtmp by
default.
The old file is named wtmp.mm.dd.yy, depending in the date when you used
update and save in the VNMR_accounting program. Copy the current wtmp file
to wtmp.current and then copy the wtmp.date to wtmp. You can then access
the data with VNMR_accounting. When you are done you have to copy the
wtmp.current back to wtmp. This must be done as root. Be careful to backup
the current wtmp.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you just want to look at console log information, just use last: last -f
wtmpx The console data is kept in /var/adm is wtmp (or wtmpx depending on
your version of Solaris).
Don't move wtmp (or any file that is being accessed) as that will have
unintended side effects. Copy the wtmp (or wtmpx) file, then cp /dev/null on
top of the original file to reset the accounting records.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit console_login in /var/adm/bin to select which file is read by
VNMR_accounting. /vnmr/adm/bin/console_login takes two
arguments. You can set the 'wtmp' file it uses by editing view_acctng.
