emergency ventilation

Hello!

We are planning a new Analytical Chemistry lab that will house two 500 MHz NMR
spectrometers and several mass spectrometers. Is an emergency purging system
to vent the room in the event of a quench necessary? I am thinking that a single
large exhaust fan that is manually controlled (i.e. a big red button that you punch in an
emergency as you leave the room) should suffice. What sorts of systems do other labs have?
Also, where does one purchase sensors/alarms that track the O2 level in the room?

Thanks in advance for your comments, opinions, shared
experiences, horror stories, etc.
