I'll take some. re my two N2 sensors: One is fine after rebuilding, the
other acts 'sticky' ie the N2 level jumps. So I am going to add/reposition
the plastic spacers and try again.
I have had problems for at leats 6 months or more with noise
bursts in the carbon channel and P31 observation on my 5mm BB probe. When
it first started I called Varian to send the probe in for repair, got a
box ready and had the RMA to fill out on my desk. The noise stopped.
When it happened again, of course it was 5pm on a friday. The next
week it was gone. I have tried arraying the dec. power level - little
correlation. The fids show classic bursts starting small and ending
abruptly, lasting a few milliseconds randomly distributed in time.
I turned on the dec. and monitored the carbon channel in real time
with a speaker and tuned the probe hopeing to find a correlation with the
load (leading to a bad AMT). Nothing.
Weeks will go by with no trouble. Can this happen to our 10mm BB
probe? I don't know. We don't use it that much. I don't recall any
trouble. Meanwhile, I will continue looking for smoke. :)
        Cheers, Lew
