Hi,
in case oyu system having a room-temperature probe, try to remove it and try
to take pictures down its top bore tube (where the sample is inserted into)
with a light and/or flash in order to spot whether the inner glass insert
tube (of very thin wall thickness, only about 1/2 mm) shows signs of being
cracked: that might be another source of samples randomly not inserting
all the way… (let's hope not - otherwise the probe needs to be
repaired)
