[AMMRL] topshim error - PrepareLock - lift is on: please switch off for shimming

I have an AV II/TS 3.2 system and am encountering an error. TOPSHIM fails
with the message "PrepareLock - lift is on: please switch off for shimming". 
Has anyone seen this and found a fix?  thanks
