Hello,
We have a Varian 400 MHz LC NMR probe that we bought used and we don't have
the manual. The serial number is SN40P55P07. It is a wonderful probe and
half my group uses it routinely for NMR on hyperpolarized fluid flows with
excellent results. Unfortunately, someone tried to push methanol through
the probe at 250 psi and this created a leak because the probe is rated to
around 100 psi. This is devestating.
We've succeeded in removing the shield and the top cover to expose the top
of the flow cell. When we pushed some more methanol into the inlet, we
could see a drop of liquid leaking out the lower portion of the flow cell.
Clearly we need to remove the flow cell in order to repair this connection.
The coil leads are holding the flow cell in place. Do we need to desolder
them? Also, there is a fluidic connector that would seem to prevent the
flow cell from being removed out the top. Does anybody have any experience
taking the flow cell out of a Varian LC probe? Some photos are attached.
Happy Holidays,
