Hi everyone
We visited this back in 2006, but it's come back again from the 4th floor
occupant below the lab. Any new opinions?
"They are building a NMR lab (44'X36') on the 5th floor of a new building.
This lab will have a shielded 500, shielded 400 and unshielded 300 in it.
The architects are going to shield the room with soft iron. This is to
protect the high resolution CRT's that will be used for 3-D visualization.
Anybody had this done to their lab or any comments on this. I am getting a
new lab with 2 new NMR's and I want to get it right the first time. I
believe the lab has been stressed to dampen vibrations from the surrounding
building. However, I'm worried about this soft iron because I know nothing
about it and it has the word iron in it."
Thanks
