After running for six years with two systems, we are considering
decommissioning our Bruker AC 200. Based upon your collective
experiences, what course of action might be likely to provide some
much-needed income to our program?
1) Sell the system outright, either to another user or to a reseller,
such as MRI.
2) De-energize the magnet then sell magnet, probes, console parts,
etc., piecemeal.
3) De-energize the magnet and put the whole thing in deep, dark storage
because we would be deluding ourselves into thinking that this stuff
has any value to anyone else.
Some facts: The Oxford magnet has been energized since 1984, and the
seals are good. We have a number of probes, including all the
accessories for solids work. We are located in southern California, 40
miles east of Los Angeles.
Thanks for the input,
