Xaccess

To quote the Sun AnswerBook:
By default, any host on your network that has access to your login
server host can request a login screen be displayed. You can limit
access to the login server by modifying the Xaccess file.

I have never seen Xaccess discussed in this group so I will bring it
up. We are forcing all remote users to access our computers, both Suns
and SGIs, via SSH. Users at PCs running Xterminal software or other
computers can log into a machine via XDMCP which bypasses SSH unless
Xaccess is not properly editted. You can look at "man xdm" on an SGI or
look up Xaccess in the Sun AnswerBook2. You can allow limitted access
or you can comment out the lines which begin with *. You need to
restart xdm after these Xaccess has been editted.
/var/X11/xdm/Xaccess on an SGI
/etc/dt/config/Xaccess on a Sun

In general xdm logins have not been a problem for us but it is something
else people need to be aware of.
