Dear all,

Here is an ad that will soon appear in Nature and Science.
It may look too broad for the group but is intended for the NMR
users with strong interest/background in Strucutral biology.
We have the 300, 500 and 600 instruments
and the candidate is expected to be a major user of the Facility.

Mayo Clinic

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Foundation-Rochester
(http://www.mayo.edu/mgs/bmb/) announces openings for faculty positions at the
Assistant and Associate Professor level. Qualified individuals are expected to initiate and
maintain an outstanding research program and to contribute to educational activities in
Mayo Graduate School and Mayo Medical School. The Department is seeking to
supplement existing strengths by recruiting faculty members who are interested in the
following areas:

Biochemistry and Structural Biology, with a focus on exploring, predicting, and
designing macromolecular interactions, including protein-protein, protein-nucleic acid,
and receptor-ligand complexes. Individuals with training in structural biology techniques
such as NMR spectroscopy, computational structure prediction, and/or x-ray
crystallography are particularly encouraged to apply.

Cell Biology and Genetics, with a focus on basic cell biological and\ developmental
mechanisms relevant to human disease. Individuals with interest and expertise in
functional genomics using model organisms such as yeast, fly, worm or zebrafish are
especially encouraged to apply.

Outstanding applicants with research interests in other areas will also be given full
consideration. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to interact with basic and
medical scientists in areas of cell and molecular biology, structural biology, gene therapy,
and medicine. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a statement of research
interests, and three letters of recommendation before February 15, 2001 to:
