PROFESSORSHIP IN NMR/MRI
(100-Talent Program)
Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics of the Chinese Academy
of Sciences invites application for a full professorship position in
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, especially its application to brain function
research. Available from January 1998, this position is a part of the
well publicized "100-Academic-Leader Program" of CAS which provides
various preferential and intensive support to the chosen scientists
who are to become the academic leaders of China in the next century.
The successful applicant is expected to lead a group to carry out rigorous
and edge-cutting research activities in Bio/Medical MRI. A start grant
of 600,000 Yuan per year for consecutive 3 years will be allotted to
the position. Besides, he/she will have access to the equipment which
includes Bruker Bio/spec 47/30 MRI spectrometer, 2 Bruker high-filed
NMR spectrometers, 1 minicomputer and 6 workstations etc. The salary
will be 30,000 Yuan per annum with a comprehensive benefit package
including a free 3-bedroom apartment, free medicare, daycare/kindergarten
and others. The moving expense will be reimbursed. The applicant should
hold a PhD degree in Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy or close related
areas. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Strong background in MRI
or NMR principles and applications is desired. The applicant should
