Hi Beth,
Actually the connections from that A connector to the back panel are probably
not used. Per the wiring manual there may be a round 28-pin connector on
the back of the spectrometer around where the other cables connect on the back
panel of the console. And it looks like those connectors are for external
accessories like if you've got an external gradient cabinet or a Q-switch probe.
I suspect that you likely have neither of these things. If you do, it's
probably a question of replacing an entire wiring harness.
If you don't have those accessories then the connection that you need is A1 which
goes to the !SEL_2H on the 2H-TX. If it were me, I might disconnect the A
connector and just run one cable between that and the appropriate connector on
the 2H-TX.

I’m replacing the T2 / A cable on our AVANCE I unit because of a broken
wire. According to the wiring diagram, most of the T2/A connectors go to the back
panel (the q-switch, blk grad X, etc.). Where is this panel? I haven’t found
it in any of the documentation, and (when I’m looking at our system) I’ve
not seen any panels behind the back cover that have SMA connectors.
The T2 A/B/C cables are coiled in a packet, so it’s impossible to easily
trace individual cables.
Can anyone point me to a diagram or something? I assume the location I’m
looking for is buried amidst the pile of tubing or something, but I’d appreciate
any pointers. It’s an old console, so I’m wary of jostling things too
much if I don’t have to.
