Hello everyone,
First of all, thank you very much for the answers to my last question. It's
fantastic how much knowledge is being gathered here. Unfortunately, I have
two more questions about recovery that I'm unsure about and hope there will
be such a great support again.
1) I have a piping system (copper) with an OD of 23 mm, so I think I have an
ID of 19 mm. The piping system runs from one end of the building to another
and is up to 100 m long. The bag is in the basement, the spectrometers on
the ground floor. I read a lot of old AMMRL emails and saw that most of you
have an ID of 1'' or more. Is there anyone with an ID of 20 mm or less who
uses the piping systems to capture helium from a fill? If so, how long is
your piping system and how much backpressure builds up during a fill?
2) I have an old gas bag from another group that hasn't been used for a long
time and would like to get it back into operation. However, I'm a bit confused
about the connection (see picture). How do I connect the hose to a pipe system?
With clamps? Glue? Is the hose even usable (it's quite hard and brittle)?
Best regards,
Sebastian
