Hi Ken,

In the past I have used a vacuum and then compressed gas to clean them a
few times before ordering replacements. On the standard chest high bays I
believe they are RF barriers too so it is not really an option to just try
to replace them with AC mesh filters of a similar filtration design. But,
most of these types of filters do come with an electrostatic coating and
once that is loaded with dust it is no longer effective. From my
observations vacuuming and then blowing them off with compressed gas still
leaves them gray in color as opposed to the white color they are when
delivered. I would suspect that that coating may wash off if you use
detergents. On our new NEO I negotiated a few extras into the purchase.

On the smaller bay 300 in our lab the filters are just the fiber mesh (no
frame) and they clamp into an RF shielding frame. Those are inexpensive
and I just vacuum them once or twice and then buy new ones from Bruker.
