Helium is a bit tricky - please use Copper pipelines - there is a special
Copper alloy and treatment for the Helium lines. PE and PTFE are not Helium
tight enough!
We have a 'backbone' on these Copper lines through our buildings. We are
attached to the building of the Physic department. And these have a recycling
and liquification machines in the cellar. On the top of the building is the
Helium balloon, filling this 10 m3 vessel up. When the balloon=
is quite full, then the Helium gas is compressed into cylinders and stored
there, until it is liquidified to liquid Helium. The team of the next department
controls the gas, if there is a leak, it will be immediately closed.=
The problem is, the liquification process is cleaning the gas before it becomes
liquid - and this needs a lot of time and energy, to get rid of oxygen, nitrogen
and vapour of water. If the gas is quite pure, the rate of the machine gets
higher.
Bruker delivers a small station with a small balloon - if the balloon is full,
then the gas is compressed into a set of cylinders. And the platform with
the cylinders can be sent to a liquification process. Then the liquified
Helium is then delivered to you.
Heliosmart is the brand name by Bruker - at the end of the magnet is the
Heliosmart parts:

You can also can do it with your own system.
