Re: [AMMRL] Oxygen sensor/monitor for NMR lab #Troubleshooting

Good morning,

We got a few hardwired older sensor style systems. Same issues so I looked
for options.

Recently we’ve starting trying the PureAire (TX-1100-DRA) which is
supposed to last 10+ years between sensor changes and zero maintenance.

A couple years in and no complaints. They cost more upfront, but no false
alarms at 2am every 18 months is worth the cost so far.

Just had one of our older “cheaper” systems need a sensor.
The sensors have now rocketed up to over $400 and the calibration by an outside
firm cost $300 (admittedly we can do this ourselves subsequently…but still…wow).

So only just thinking about a $400 sensor (not costing in initial device) every
2 years (being generous) over a 10yr system it costs more in sensors than the newer
10yr system costs upfront…. (Supply chain/inflation may have altered that
initial cost though).

Best wishes,
Ryan
