Thank you all for your responses and support! Sorry for my delayed response,
I was off troubleshooting a handful of NMR issues.
We successfully resolved the sample load issues; I have not seen the second
issue I sent out so I am attributing that up to a case of the Mondays. After
tuning the different sample injection air parameters, the sample load issue
was resolved by changing the "reduced lift hold air flow" parameter to 4000 l/h.
Additionally, the "VT gas reduction while lift is switching off" was enabled.
I proceeded to then test it out by loading up my 24 slot SampleCase with samples
and running that on the lift loop until I was convinced it was resolved (made
it through all without an issue!).
As for the shim stack comments, good catch on those as well! There was grime/residue
build up on the top of the shim stack that seemed to be causing issues. In fact,
once this was cleaned out and reinstalled, sample rotation was able to be achieved
once again.
I appreciate all of your feedback once again. I definitely am looking forward to

Hi Jessica,
Two things - when the console tries to detect the sample, it turns the spin
gas on for a short time and if it sees something move, it assumes that's a
sample. Either dirt on the top of the shim coil, or dirt on the sensor in
the bottom of the BST could block that signal and prevent sample detection.
If you look down the bore to the where the spinner sits you can sometimes
see a grey glob of accumulated dirt… Either way, might be worth cleaning
out the shim system.
As for getting a sample out, the simplest temporary solution is to crank the
VT gasflow up to maximum (and then turn on the lift if you need to.) A more
permanent solution for getting the sample out in manual mode is to go into the
BSMS service webpage and adjust the "hold gasflow" in the sample section
if I recall correctly.

Thank you all for the detailed responses - I appreciate the guidance as I work
through this!
A brief update - a student was utilizing the instrument tonight and, while
the sample went down into the magnet (after a few up and down cycles), it appears
TopSpin does not realize there is a sample within the magnet. Troubleshooting
thusfar has involved disabling the autosampler and trying to utilize the lift
option to manually eject. Unfortunately, it appears the air pressure is not
ample enough to eject the sample/spinner.
Does anyone have any tricks for this issue? I will be working on this an hoping
to resolve this as soon as possible. (and then get back to addressing the other
potential troubleshoots for the previous email's issues).
