I have acquired an old Varian R2D2 energisation lead. I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Should I keep it (don't have an R2D2), sell it (what is its value?), or make it available for loan? There is not a power supply to accompany it, and without one of the old Varian dual shim power supplies it is not very useful. It could be adapted to any supply by using a mating connector, but the dual shim arrangement in the R2D2 magnets is not trivial to adapt. I am open to discuss its future with any of you by private message.
