Hello Spinlanders,
Our lab, with its Bruker AC-200 NMR system, was located in northern New
Jersey for over ten years. During that time we never felt the need for
installation of an uninterruptible power supply. We relocated to
northeastern Pennsylvania in October 2004. Since moving, we have
experienced numerous power failures, while running NMR experiments, that
necessitated resetting and rebooting NMR hardware and computer systems. We
now need to install a UPS that will prevent our NMR system from crashing
during short duration (< 5 minutes) power failures. We have looked through
AMMRL's archives and have decided that it might be of benefit to all if
folks were to share information with respect to the details of their own
lab's UPS solutions. If possible, please include current cost and warranty
information as well as any comments concerning overall reliability of
installed UPS systems.
