NMR SPECTROSCOPIST
Sanofi-aventis, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, has an
Associate Scientist position open in it's Discovery Analytics NMR Lab in
Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Responsibilities of this position include; running routine NMR spectra,
working directly with chemists in Internal Medicine and CNS groups in
application of NMR to solving structure problems, collaborating with
other analytical groups in order to solve structure problems, entering
data in to LIMS system, and the maintenance and troubleshooting of the
NMR systems. The person in the position will also be responsible for
the routine maintenance of the open access NMR's, including user
training, troubleshooting, and calibration.
3-5 years hands on experience in the application of small molecule NMR,
preferably in pharmaceutical industry. Experience on Varian NMR
spectrometers is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of the UNIX
operating system, including shell scripting is a plus. Experience with
other spectroscopic techniques is desirable. Experience in HPLC methods
development would be a plus.
Candidates for this position will have either a Bachelors or Masters
degree in either organic chemistry, analytical chemistry or a related
field with good understanding of basic NMR.
Candidates must have strong communication skills and knowledge of how to
use common office productivity products (Windows®, Word®, Excel®,
etc.) is required. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and
have the desire to work in a team environment.
