prepared the samples and put them into 5mm tubes because its good
experience for them (and bad experience for me :). Does anyone have a
good way to transport these samples? I'd like to put them in
overnight mail and avoid the road trip. Do we need to use screw cap
tubes? I think that 30-60 samples in CDCl3 will be involved each
time.
Dave,

The screw cap tubes are nice for a small numbe of samples. We have
used them many times. We also used the boxes that Wilmad uses for
shipping their NMR tubes. These are packed inside a larger box. The
person shipping the package must insure that the caps on the tubes are
new and tight. Wilmad sells caps at a very low price. Over the past
10 yrs I have lost only one sample because of a bad cap. One sample
was also lost because of the NMR tube broke. One should check with
the carrier about the rules of shipping disolved samples. Many of the
solvents are considered hazardous.
