Hello everyone,

I logged in remotely to the AMMRL meeting at ENC.
There were great discussions about all things related to helium.  And that is completely understandable.

At the start of the meeting, Marc listed several possible discussion topics.  One of the topics was something like: Software stability issues.
I think I know what this is about: you have a new spectrometer that is working great, and then all of a sudden you lose communication with the console.  The only work around is to power cycle the console.  At the best of times this is annoying.  At worst, it happens in the middle of a 3-day experiment and your data and precious sample are gone.

Has anyone else had that happen?
How frequently do you lose communication with the console?
Have you got a FIX, or a work-around?

We had several spectrometers upgraded just before the start of the pandemic.  We have been dealing with these infrequent communication breakdowns ever since.  I'm just wondering if we are alone in this, or is anyone else seeing this happen too.

Thanks,
Bob.
P.S.:  Thanks Marc, Karen Ann, Martha and the whole AMMRL team for keeping this excellent organization going strong.
