Hi again,
I've been slowly working on this, with help received following my
previous message.
Info from Bruker is here:
https://repo-bbio.bruker.com/CentOS/7/TopSpinInstallationRequirements.html
And I also used info from section 6 here:
https://www.ucl.ac.uk/nmr/common-problems
I now have an almost working system, but with two issues.
One is simply that TopSpin 3.2 starts extremely slowly under CentOS 7
compared to CentOS 5. Under 5, the splash logo in the cnter of the
screen just appears very briefly as the program starts.
Under CentOS 7 the logo is on screen for what seems like a long time,
many seconds, particularly as it shows the message 'Launching
Communication Services'.
The main problem is the license manager. I know I can use the
spectrometer license, if it is booted, but this adds another delay to an
already slow startup.
I have installed, started and enabled "topspin-network.service", but the
license manager does not start on bootup.
I have this installed as /etc/systemd/system/bruker_lmgr.service
If I type "systemctl start bruker_lmgr.service" it starts, but following
this with "systemctl enable bruker_lmgr.service" does not make it start
automatically at the next boot.
Any ideas to fix either of these issues?
For the time being I have placed the CentOS 5 system behind a router,
which will hopefully keep everyone happy here.
Thanks very much,
Phil.
