AMMRL: NMR tubes breaking when removed from turbines

Each morning we remove 40-60 NMR tubes from our 96 Sample Agilent 7620AS
robot. When pulling them out of the turbines, invariably about 1 out of
every 250 or so will break at the very bottom. It's as is them seal is so
tight and the tube so weak that that glass pulls apart.

We routinely where gloves as a precaution, but on occasion the spray/spalsh
will contact bare skin.

Is anyone else in a high volume environment having consistent issues with
tubes breaking when being removed from Agilent/Varian turbines? This is
not a problem with the Bruker turbines as they do not seem to put the same
strain on the tubes - and have a much lower volume as they are not robotic
systems.

Any suggestions?
