Thank you to everyone who responded to my request for help. I received
many great suggestions and input and look forward to examining every
option. Following are the scheduling programs/websites that I received
information about - the list is in the order in which I received the
responses. My original e-mail is at the bottom of this message.

- http://www.bookking.ca/ - Its also used for accounting and billing
purposes.
- MS Outlook public calendars
- A program titled Calcium
(http://www.brownbearsw.com/calcium/WhatIsIt.html)
- http://ami.scripps.edu/software/scheduler (It requires Apache, MySQL
and PHP which are all readily available as Windows binaries.)
- http://www.ezreserve.com/eventcontrol/default.aspx - The software runs
on a Windows IIS web server using ASP.NET and costs $60 for 10
calendars.

- We use a web based calendar that can be viewed using IE, Netscape or
Firefox from any platform. It can be set up so that usernames and
passwords are required to post items in the calendar and it will email
the user and the admin of the entry or changes. It can also be setup so
that conflicting entries are not allowed. Some instruments are
scheduled by the managers, so these calendars are view only to the users
while the walkup instrument calendars allow the users to schedule
themselves. The software runs on a Windows IIS web server using ASP.NET
and costs $60 for 10 calendars.

- I have a set of home brew perl programs that work well for scheduling
here. Since perl is platform independent, it should run on any system.
Ours is running on a Dell server running Windows 2000 Server. The perl
was not included with Windows, but it was free and easy to install.

The following are Unix based programs:

Thank you again for all of the help, I really do appreciate it.

Adrienne

Subject: Internet Scheduling Programs

Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows of an on-line scheduling program
that is not Unix based but is Windows based? There have been some
conflicts in time on the NMR. I have had people not signing up in the
book and telling someone they are coming and then someone else signs up
for that time. I would be very interested in any information and would
be happy to post a summary if there is interest.

Thank you,
Adrienne
